Harini, I sure haven't watched the program but I am not sure if i agree with everything else...
Like, people from coastal region in AP would find telangana dialect hard to digest.. Sometimes difficult to understand.. Am not sure that could be blamed upon the people.. The way people speak and even the words they use keep changing from one region to other and to me it looks like you referred to this part when you were talking of 'Happy Days'..
Anyway, it's been long time since I watched 'Happy Days' and i don't exactly remember.. I would sure love if everyone could speak the coastal telugu :)

its not the case with telangana or coastal,i am talking about telugu in general and i totally accept telangana dialect too.its just their way of talking.thats it..
but i am mentioning only about the way they talk,the way they make some polishes and add some style to it.it really is hard to digest..

Good post Harini. You are echoing the majority opinion of many true language lovers. HD hero Varun Sandesh is an NRI. May be you can leave him.
But normal audience talking in funny Telugu is perhaps influence of TV. Just like Radio Telugu, Railway Telugu, NRI Telugu and convent Telugu, there could be a new style of Telugu - Reality TV shows Telugu and Cinema Telugu (the way Udit Narayan and that dubbing artist Sarita, sabotages Telugu)
